Karan Gupta, DO, F.A.C.C
Karan Gupta is an Interventional and Structural Cardiologist at the Heart Center of North Texas. Born and raised in South Florida, he completed his undergraduate studies at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, majoring in economics in addition to completing the pre-medical track. He went to medical school at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Upon graduating, he completed his internal medicine residency at the Palmetto General Hospital in Hialeah, FL ('18), where he served as Chief Resident, and his cardiovascular disease fellowship at Medical City Fort Worth ('21). He completed his interventional cardiology fellowship at the University of Chicago (NorthShore), ('22) under the direction and mentorship of Dr. Mark Ricciardi M.D, nationally renowned and recognized interventional and structural cardiologist. During his time in fellowship, he served as a sub investigator for many national clinical trials and investigational device studies. He has presented abstracts and cases at multiple national conferences.
Dr. Gupta has a passion and extensive clinical interest in complex coronary and transcatheter structural interventions. He is skilled in right and left heart catheterization, complex coronary stenting, coronary atherectomy (rotational or laser), intracoronary lithotripsy (ShockWave), percutaneous PFO/ASD closures, transcatheter aortic valve replacements (TAVR), transcatheter mitral valve replacement (TMVR), transcatheter mitral valve repair (TMVr or MitraClip), perivalvular leak closures, peripheral artery interventions, Impella device placement, and IABP device placement.
He joins the Heart Center of North Texas this September. Fort Worth holds a special place in his heart, for both of his children were born here. He hopes to continue to help the amazing people of this area and establish long term roots in the community.
